Kappo Santokurokumi
Taste the seasonal flavors of Hokkaido in kappo cuisine.
Tucked away in the quiet streets of residential Sapporo, Kappo Santoku Rokumi serves kappo cuisine prepared by chef Ryosuke Ohata. Every morning, Ohata visits the market and selects the freshest seasonal ingredients for the day’s menu. Diners can enjoy Ohata’s carefully crafted dishes through either omakase-style courses, which are paired with high-quality sake, or a specially prepared bento-style meal. The superb quality of Ohata’s dishes earned Santoku Rokumi a Michelin star in both the 2012 and 2017 Hokkaido Michelin Guides, the only two stars in the region.
Ohata’s discerning eye is not limited to the culinary world—Santoku Rokumi’s utensils and tableware are works of art themselves. Santoku Rokumi’s bowls and plates are commissioned from famous potters from all over Japan, and Ming Dynasty blue and white pottery is also used.
Santoku Rokumi is dedicated to fostering a welcoming atmosphere for all diners and providing top-rate kappo cuisine for an unforgettable dining experience. The restaurant provides a multi-language menu as well as translation devices so that diners from abroad can choose their dishes with ease. There is also an optional matcha tea service that includes a special, handmade sakura keychain gift, which serves as a pretty reminder of the dining experience.
